Project Manager

Location: Boston and Cambridge, MA

Job Description:

This individual will be responsible for managing a multi-channel marketing initiative spanning various service providers and client departments. The primary focus of this position will consist of maintaining the project plan, managing risk, and communicating to bridge gaps. This person must have  the ability to comprehend dependencies across work streams, with the intent of solving disconnect issues and defining actions to mitigate risks.  This PM must have confidence in maintaining a rigorous Project Management Office approach in an unstructured environment.   He or she will be participating in client and vendor meetings to gather status updates, communicate risks and secure commitment to deliverables.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Identify and form relationships with the lead contacts of the service providers and client department heads responsible for the project
  • Oversee the implementation of the project on a daily basis with regard to schedule, budget, and quality
  • Establish a communication plan that supports networking efforts between project team members to ensure that the project team is provided clear and correct information in a timely manner
  • Develop a project schedule and supporting plan and ensure adherence to the plan by all project participants
  • Manage project risks and issues
  • Mediate problems encountered by team members
  • Coordinate activities of sub-teams
  • Report project progress to management
  • Ensure adherence to sponsor’s standards, processes, policies, and procedures

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a project manager, PMP a plus
  • Associates or Bachelors degree
  • Thoroughly understands project management methodology (PMBOK, or similar)
  • Comfortable using MS Project 2003 or higher
  • Scrupulous attention to detail
  • Flexibility and resourcefulness are essential
  • Demonstrable ability to effectively manage diverse teams, consisting of technical and non-technical members, in a matrix organization
  • Healthcare Marketing project experience a plus

  • Ability to create complex project plans with integrated project steps, many with multiple sub-plans
